Steiner School

The idea for the First Rudolph Steiner School in black Africa was conceived by Nani (a Steiner/Waldorf pupil herself) in 1992 and after climbing a hazardous path, became a flourishing establishment with sister Schools all over the East African region. There were wonderful people involved, who translated the vision into reality. (Florian,Vojko and Irmgard, Lis and Johannes Braun, and now Judith Brown) The school has about 300 children from all ways of life, but mostly local Masais.

We do Steiner teacher training modules every holiday. The school has a farm and wonderful vegetable gardens. On of our attempts is  Artemisia growing, the anti Malaria herb. Teachers and Volunteers come from every corner of the Globe and are amazed at the versatility and vitality of our bush school.
