Welcome to Kitengela – a magical place in the bush
Kitengela Glass, a long time neighbor to Nairobi National Park, is a hidden gem. Prior to entering, be prepared for the myriad of sculptures, glass art and variety of animals along the rough & wildly entertaining road to this unique artists home.
Upon arrival one can feel the magic of Kitengela by following the secret mosaic pathways leading to niches where busy artisans transformed recycled glass, scrap metal, and an assortment of other materials into beautiful artwork, jewelry, and home décor.
Kitengela Glass which was started as a stained glass studio in 1981 by Nani Croze provides a fascinating glimpse into the mind of a leading female artist in Kenya. We are currently working on immortalizing the legacy she has created with a sculpture garden and art walk. Nani is committed to maintaining the natural landscape by planting trees, promoting renewable energy sources, and limiting waste.
If you would like more information on how to support or contribute towards Kitengela’s educational efforts. Please contact Anselm at nani@kitengela.com
At Kitengela Glass you will also find recreational activities to brighten up your weekend and offer a quiet time from the hustle and bustle of city life. Activities include glass blowing classes, dalle de verre classes, mosaic lessons and pottery classes with Zed.
Please don't use Google maps, if lost call the office. WE ARE NOT IN KITENGELA TOWN! And you cannot get to us from that town.
